A rock wall that belongs to the space

An entrance, lounge and quiet room in a hotel have different purposes. Design therefore starts with the specific location: should the wall define the room, provide a backdrop or connect different areas? An artificial rock wall can be developed in shape, texture and colour around that purpose.

At QuasiStein, surfaces are modelled and finished by hand on site. The design is discussed with you, considering both the detail seen up close and the impression as someone enters the room.

Light, texture and the existing architecture

A sculpted surface responds to light. Side lighting emphasises raised areas and recesses, while softer illumination changes how the wall is perceived. We therefore consider the planned lighting alongside texture and colour.

Junctions with timber, glass, doors and other surfaces are also part of planning. Photos, drawings or a conversation about the existing space help us understand the intended design. Coordination with the other trades involved depends on the specific project.

Clarifying the requirements of a wellness space

The design needs to suit how the space is used. A dry relaxation area, a humid room and a pool surround present different requirements. The substrate, humidity, cleaning and any contact with water must therefore be clarified before the work is agreed.

A decorative rock surface is not automatically a waterproofing system. The suitable construction and any preparation required need to be assessed for the particular project.

What helps us start the conversation

Please send the project location, photos or drawings, approximate dimensions and a short description of the area. Ideas about colour and texture, along with your preferred timing, are also useful. This gives us a practical starting point for discussing the next steps.
